TSL 18.3 Alison Lester

Winner of the most prolific storyteller on TSL, this was Alison’s fourth and last story before she moved to England. We miss her dearly and though it appropriate to give her a poster of all her story titles.

TSL #18.2: YEE JENN JONG

We were so excited to have our our first REAL Politician on TSL! But why did he call himself a ‘failed politician’?  Listen to Jenn Jong tell his fascinating story of how he came to be an opposition politician. Yee Jenn Jong is currently a non-constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) representing the Worker’s Party in the 12th Parliament of Singapore.  He is also an entrepreneur who has founded several start-ups, most notable of which is education technology company ASKnLearn.

TSL #16.2 VALERIE LESTER

It’s not everyday you get a distinguished author to come tell a very personal story about how she met her husband. And what a story it is! Think 1950s and the glamour of air travel on Pan Am, and the impossibility of tracking each other without phones or the internet! Plenty of material here for a classic Hollywood Love Story! Thank you Valerie for sharing your joy and your love!

You can buy her latest biography of the great Italian printer Giambattista Bodoni: His Life and His World here.

Valerie Browne Lester is an independent scholar, writer, and translator living in the Boston area. She is the author of Fasten Your Seat Belts! History and Heroism in the Pan Am Cabin (1995), which is a history of Pan American told in the voices of its cabin crew; and Phiz, The Man Who Drew Dickens (2004), a biography of Hablot Knight Browne, Dickens’s principal illustrator (who was also her great-great-grandfather). Her biography of the great Italian printer Giambattista Bodoni (1710-1813) Giambattista Bodoni: His Life and His World was published by David Godine in September 2015.
